I am sorry to hear this. I have a friend that has slipped into severe depression because the fantasy football season has ended. All she does is stare at her fantasy lineup and says "I can't believe it's over." It is sad to hear the kind of power that this sport has. I hope you can kick your addiction and move on with your life.

well, not as serious as a divorce and it hasn't ruined my life but heres the story (I'm a Bears fan):

It's Week 14 of the NFL Season in 2005 (last year) and my Bears are 9-3. The playoffs are looking within reach for the first time in about 3-5 years. The team is at Pittsburgh. I'm not sure if it was Sunday Night or Monday Night Football, but this was a big game for me. Not only were my Bears playing a pretty good team (which in fact they won the Super Bowl of course) but I only needed Hines Ward to get me 17 fantasy points and my fanatsy team would've already clinched a first round bye. My Bears were playing a sloppy game, both teams actually weren't looking great at all. Me and 2 of my buds were watching it and we were pretty bummed with the score 14-9, Steelers winning.

Steelers ball, 3rd and long, they throw a bomb to Ward, 71 yard touchdown. I get up, cheer, start dancing, and yell "I Got A Bye Baby!" My guys look up at me and are like, "What in the world are you doin?"

My friends (or those 2 anyways) never look at me the same way because I put fantasy ahead of my first true love of football, the Bears. I think that is affecting many people, they aren't rooting for teams, they are rooting for players.

I'm sorry for your divorce by the way.

Okay, I understand why people or so into the "Fantasy" of it. But let's get something straight. It's FANTASY!!!!!

I'm also obsess with FF, to a point. When the season is over, it's just that, OVER!!!!

You will some, you lose some. I look at it as a quick 4 months of hardcore Football until Christmas and a start to the new year.

I don't believe in the divorce discussion. It's crazy. Just think about it...

"My wife and I (or husband) split because either I or my spouse was too focus on fantasy football. I mean, who is going to listen to that???

fantasy hockey is even more obsessive--and i imagine the big baseball fans even more so--football 16 games-hockey 82- baseball 164 i think--i'll tell u hockey has hooked me more than football.--and im vince lombardi's great nephew.--its more interesting too.--and lets face it u cant compare the athlete--football in seven seconds they go huddle up and go again--in hockey they fly around at 30 mph for minutes at a time on two thin pieces of steel on solid ice.--like i say football is in my veins as much and if not more than anyone --but hockey is a different animal

Somehow I doubt that fantasy football (which only lasts 15 weeks or so out of 52) is really to blame for wrecking anyone's marriage.

If you are blaming Fantasy Football for all this then you are nuts. Its no different then watching soap operas, crime dramas, video games, etc... its just a hobby. Sounds like your friends are using the "FF League" as an excuse and not facing the real issues. Adultery, etc.....
