First, testing for infertility can be a long process. They test you and your partner, for a variety of things, including STD, semen analysis, and the actual physical condition of you. I don't think that there would be any obvious signs short of lack of period. There are a lot of misconceptions about trying to conceive. I think that if you have been trying for over a year, it is time for you and your partner to go see a doctor. You can also try charting there are lot of free website, that will help you with that. That would be a good place to depending on how long you have been trying.

Not sure of any signs besides trying to conceive for many years and failing or an absent period. You might want to have some tests ran by a doctor if you feel something is wrong. I also have a hard time conceiving. I miscarried my 1st oct. 11, 2003 and then tried for a year and 5 months before getting pregnant with my 2nd which ended up giving me a beautiful baby boy. As of now I have been trying to conceive for 7 months. It just takes time and patience sometimes. Good luck tho.

They say to try for a year, or for 6 months if you are 35 or over.
Also remember, it could be you or your partner that is infertile, if either of you are.
I always suspected that I would have a hard time conceiving, because my period was never "normal" and my Mom had to take fertility drugs to have me and my brother (but my doctor told me that meant nothing). Sure enough, when I went off the pill I apparently wasn't ovulating (I didn't get my period). Since the problem was obvious and since I had gone off other important medication in order to get pregnant, I saw my OBGYN after just 3 months of trying (I just turned 33). She gave me clomid to make me ovulate and I got pregnant on the first try!

30 years ago, I was told by my Doctor after trying to get pregnant for 2 years that I may not be able to conceive. He told me that out of 10 women, atleast 1 woman without explanation will not be able to have children. He said I was One of them.
My son Just turned 27.
KEEP TRYING! AND MAKE SURE THAT IT'S NOT YOUR HUSBANDS THAT HAS THE PROBLEM.
