Gap between the rich and poor is increasing. I think that is the main problem because it will be harder to help the poor. It is said that just United States itself has 1.5 times the food to feed the poor in the world. But, I have not seen with my own eyes people helping the poor. People just help the poor when it is Christmas or Thanksgiving..but if you think about it we eat and live like it is Christmas and Thanksgiving every day...imagine their lives. It is sad that they do not have much help..especially in third world countries.

It depends because poor people are different in different countries and traditional lifestyle also will vary. I think in this country they have more of a hand but in other countries poor work the hardest and they know how short life is. I think influences in this country might be things like more jobs, welfare..free food etc.

The difficulty with poverty is that all aspects of life are influenced by outsiders. Food, shelter and clothing are often provided by government and, less often, by the kindness of neighbors. To address changes in "the traditional lifestyle," a little more information is needed as to the tradition. Poor people living in huts in Ethiopia have a very different tradition than poor people living off the state in a nice apartment in Albany, NY, for example.
