I moved into a house with no landscaping in front or back and the landscaper started the trees and plantings in front, but is it too late to lay the sod down. should I wait until the spring. Any info would be helpful. thanks

Actually the tree plantings should coinside with the sodding of the lawn. I don't know what part of the country you are in but, the sodding will be best done, in the early spring. Most sod farms won't harvest sod at this time of year so I don't even know if it would be available. Wait til early spring when the soil dries somewhat and is workable. The length of daylight will also be longer thus giving the lawn a good start. The new lawn will thrive at this time of year.. Good luck!

I have a book on all kinds of home remedies and the guy who wrote swears and others have since I talked about it, that putting down grass seed in the winter makes for the best lawn, sowing grass seed in winter. The seed go dormant then sprout like no tommorrow in the spring, whereas sod, needs watering every day, thoroughly and deeply to keep it from dying and you are responsible for that. I'd get some good seed and spread it down and then lightly fertilize and see how that does, save a lot of money and feel good about doing it yourself. you can always overseed in the spring. Good luck.

Wait until Spring. Have you purchased yet? If not, consider doing so. Buying out of season, you may get a large discount, up to 50%. Although labor will still cost the same.

Yes, you should wait until early spring. I had mine laid in March and it worked out well. If you wait too late it will cost you a fortune in water to get it established.

My opinion it is not too late. Just make sure U keep it watered. In the beginning watered ones a day, if it is raining don't watered. But for more answer and technics, you can go any garden center.

It depends on where you live, although with global warming it soon won't make a difference. It's in the 50's in Canada!!!
