Always, always, always check with your doctor before using any type of medication while you are pregnant. Never assume that just because you seen it on a web site or someone tells you its ok or even because its over the counter medication, that its safe to use,...it may not be. Ask your doctor. He's only a phone call away, and knows if its safe for you...the websites don't know your medical history, he does.

You can always ask your pharmacist, they are generally more knowledgeable than most doctors about drug safety during pregnancy and lactation.

You can also call Motherisk.org. Always worth the long distance charge (use a 10-10 number and it will probably only cost you $1 or less). They keep up to date on absolutely every study.

This may be a generalized list of OTC drugs which your OB-GYN considers safe, but when pregnant, since each individual is different, it would be better if they got this information from their own doctor that is familiar with any kind of health problems they may have. And yes, I had to take prenatal vitamins, plus I had to take some medication prescribed for me from my OB/GYN while I was pregnant.
