-Complete the writing of your book.
-Have others look over your book for editing.
-Once you have an edited version you feel is marketable, search for a publisher or an agent.
-Write a query and a proposal to your agent.
-If they are interested they will contact you.
-The publisher the agent finds for you would be in charge of the distribution.

Here's a site with some good resources listed.

Here's a free e-book (no bugs, I've downloaded it) called "Mugging the Muse: Writing Fiction for Love and Money" by Holly Lisle. On pages 95-114 she discusses editors and agents.

There is also the self-publishing route. You may want to check out http://www.lulu.com (free self-publishing and you keep all the rights)- or if you are good at marketing you could pay to have a batch of 1,000 printed for you to sell. I've met people who do this and are successful - they are the self-motivated types who already have marketing experience.

could it extremely make a distinction? If any fool would desire to appreciate the Bible, it may be criticized as being too simplistic. people who surely want to be intellectually inspired could locate it boring, trite, and pointless. i like the certainty that the Bible calls for some working awareness of the unique languages, cultures, historic past, and society, besides as understanding some theological historic past from people who've studied the Bible their total existence. If it wasn't that way, if the full factor merely examine like all different e book, i could locate it boring and pointless, and could on no account examine it. a great number of the variations in interpretation are stupid, and would on no account have carry approximately human beings splintering into extra denominations. it is likewise important to appreciate that God did no longer write the Bible, the Bible isn't required for concept in God, and it is a decision of books quite than a single e book. because of the fact it is a decision of books, each and every e book could be judged one after the different, quite than on the comparable point as all the different books. some have been written actually, some have been written as allegory, and others have been written as the two or neither.

This depends on whether you plan to self publish or hope to be commercially published. It's a whole different ballgame. In one case, you need to learn the business side of self-pubbing and set up distribution yourself, in the other, you need to do market study and then submit your manuscript to the appropriate publisher, along with a cover letter and a SAE. Distribution is not your worry.

You need to approach the right publisher, and you need to approach them in the right way. If you write a mystery, you aren't going to sell it to someone who is looking for love stories, no matter how well it is written.

I would strongly recommend that you pick up a copy of SELLING YOUR STORY IN 60 SECONDS, by Michael Hauge. It is geared largely to screen writers, but most of the ideas are just as applicable to books.

I wouldn't worry about publishing until it's completely written. When it is, I'd check out some books on writing and getting published. (found in any reference section in Barnes and Noble.)

It is very difficult to get published unless you are a known writer. You can always pay about $3,000 and get it published yourself. This means you will have 1,000 books in your basement to sell one by one on ebay unless you can discover another way to get rid of them.
