Yes, it's a good system, but can be too drying for some skin types.

I have been using Proactiv for about 7 months now and I am very happy with the results. Sure, the three steps can be a hassle, but it actually WORKS.

Granted, it took about 3-4 months for it to fully clear my acne. I still get little pimples every now and then, but they are nothing compared to how my skin used to be. I had pretty bad acne that was everywhere on my face, very painful and embarrassing as well. I had tried all of the pills and creams from my dermatologist and over-the-counter.

I also use ZapZyt cream in addition to ProActiv at night, before going to bed.

Also, the key is that you MUST use this product religiously -- this means every morning and night, all of the steps.

This is the only product that has actually helped to clear my skin significantly. It can be pretty pricey, but I find it to be worth it. Give it a try -- I spent so long contemplating whether or not I should buy it, now I wish I had only started using it sooner. Good luck!

Yes, ProActive really works, however, it is not something that you just use until your breakout clears up. It works best as part of a routine. My daughter has relatively mild acne and ProActive has been terrific. Some people don't care for the cost, but I feel that I would wind up spending just as much - if not more - money trying various over the counter products or taking her to a dermatologist. Also, they have free trials online - and the ProActive Kiosk at our mall gives us discounts because we're "regulars". Good Luck :)

I think it depends how sensitive your skin is. I have two friends who have used it. One had great results in weeks while the other got a rash the first time she used it and said it was really harsh. You should think about talking to your doctor or a dermatologist first if you're worried.

If you do get proactive make sure to do a test patch before you cover your face in it! Ie. use a little bit on your hand or something then wait till the next morning to see if your skin reacts badly.

Good luck!

yes, i used it for about 2-3 years and in the beginning yes it did work pretty good. i think i saw a difference maybe after a month or two but like most things, when you're body gets used to it, then it stops working. i last used it last year and had to stop because it caused my skin to itch some, and burn. i have since then switched to murad products and i think they work very well. they contain salicyclic acid and not benozoyl? peroxide like proactiv. even prior to proactiv i think salicyclic worked better on my skin. my doctor says benz. will cause some patients to itch because its a lot harsher.
another thing i use at night is tazorac. a cream you use at night for acne and i have been using it for a week and i've noticed where it has cleared up breakouts as well as bringing those from underneath the surface as well.. but of course its going to take time. it also works to clear up dark spots that acne leave behinds because it is one of the retinoid creams.
good luck! i know acne is pain in the butt!

it didn't work for me, infact i thought it just made it worse. I have two friends though, one with mild one with somewhat severe acne. I saw their faces clear up dramatically with proactive so i guess it only works for some people...

Everyone sayz it works but first just try using PEARS SOAP OIL CONTROL it may be a little hard to find, but search in an Indian grocery store...also rinsing your face w/ distilled vinegar is supposed to help...just do it at night before sleeping.

I used it for about 6 months and found that it made NO difference at all in my skin's appearance. You would be just as well off going to your local drug store and getting a good face wash and toner.

Yes, it worked for me but I only had minor issues. I still use the cleanser even though I'm clear. I do without the other stuff.

it worked for about 3 months & then stopped working.... and i have heard of a dozen people with the same experience.

however... i am 24 and my acne is worse than it has ever been before... best to go see your dermetologist... they can figure out what is best for your skin... that is their job...
