I have different dreams about the house I grew up in when I was young. The house on the outside looks the same, but on the inside it always looks different. On the inside of the house, it had a basement (but when I was a little girl the house didn't have a basement) It also had an upstairs, but it was a ranch home (so there was no upstairs. The basement was a dirt floor, and one of the rooms (I think my old room was missing) Another dream I'm coming down the street and I see my old child hood home. Another dream the house has been remodled (but the outside still looks the same) This house has taken on many different looks on the inside. The house I moved into after this one, I've never had a dream about, but this one I have.

Hi,
Dreams about houses are most common and universal.
I have had a million of these. There have been public-sized restrooms in the "dream" home and strange passageways that I never even saw in a movie. They are engrossing and entertaining. And yes, the entire house is you, with the rooms signifying parts of your psyche. I just had one, last night. It ended in the kitchen where the appliances were nothing like I have ever had. Something new is cooking in my life! I wish I had written it down because I've lost most of it, by now. I encourage you to make some notes as soon as you can, leaving a blank line between lines. When you look at what you have written, you may remember more details.

Basement: good foundation. Dirt floor: simple, unfinished, working from the ground up.
Your room gone: You are not the same, it wouldn't suit you, anymore.
The interpretation is correct when you have an Ah-Ha!

It seems that your main concern here has to do with your self-preservation, ie. food, shelter, clothing, etc. and that you are probably sub-consciously or consciously going through a change in the near future that has to do with maybe moving or the fear of. The constant change of the interiors is probably not that important. Or it could also mean that you are missing something or someone from your childhood. In your dreams there are a lot of changes to the inside but the constant is your childhood and the house which can take many different meanings. My opinion is that you are longing for something in your past and maybe a trip to see someone still there or even a phone call could be the answer. Or maybe you need to talk about that part pf your life. Perhaps the separation issues were stronger than you remember or realize.
Good luck.

I believe that dreaming about a house relates to dreaming about your body, your person. The rooms in the house represent the many aspects of your inner self. The fact that the house looks similar on the outside but has changed on the inside could mean that you may look the same to others but you know that within you you have changed and evolved. Perhaps you are not happy that the people who are important to you have not seen the changes within you as a person.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
No really, just a hunch, but I wonder if it could indicate a sense of being able to return to a simpler state of being. That is you can't go back to being a child and there may be a little bit of sadness attached with it.
I've had those dreams when things have changed and I can't make it go back the way it was.
Sometimes when I wake up it is accompanied with a small sense of regret or remorse.

Or

Maybe it is a happy dream, which says you feel very secure about who you are even though circumstances may be changing the way your world around you is looking.

I also, on many occassions, dream about my childhood home. I've come to the conclusion that a trip to my old neighborhood will not only relieve me of these dreams but also free me from my childhood sadness and make me a better and more loving person.

It may be that there were sad times during your childhood at or near your home similar to mine. We didn't live in the best neighborhood and we didn't have the best of neighbors either. I believe one has to confront the bad with the good. In your case like mine we need to return to these neighborhoods and bring it all back and then let it all go (of course keeping all the good memories).

Your dreaming about changes in life. Maybe there is a change in your life right now that you can't fully accept and the dream is reminding you that you have grown up and must accept this change.
