yes, flag football is like regular football except there is no tackling. i know that much. and when i say i can follow a game i mean that i know when a touch down is or isn't and that if the ball gets dropped or a player gets tackled then the clock stops and the players have to start from the line where the ball was dropped.
so i assume that when a flag gets pulled then it's like a tackle. but what i need to know is details on the positions (ie quaterback, runnerback, etc) and the rules in better format

whoa havent played flag in years.
Here is the positon break down.
Quaterback(QB): Is the guy who lines up behind the center and distributes the ball to the other players
Halfback(HB): Is the main rusher and is lined up in the backfield usually, this player runs the ball the most.
Fullback(FB): I am not sure if your team uses one in flag but this is the second running back and is primarily used for blocking and short pass routs.
Wide Reciever(WR): These are the primary catchers on the field and they are usually the fastest players on offense.
Tight Ends(TE): My postion, These guys are usually slower than the recievers or the running backs and they are usually bigger than them to, they fuction as recievers and blockers.
Offensive Tackles: These are the outside blockers on the line and line up outside the guards. They protect the Quaterback.
Guards: They are the guys who line up between the center and the tackles. They are Blockers.
Center: This person snaps the ball to the quaterback.
The lineup is like this

WR OT-OG-OC-OG-OT-TE WR
QB
FB
HB

Then there is defensive postions
Defensive End(DE): This guy lines up outside of the Defensive Tackle and there main job is to rush the line and stop the play in the backfield.
Defensive Tackle(DT): This player is usually the biggest on the defense and is used to go up the middle to stop the play
Outside Linebacker (LB or OLB): This player lines up outside of the middle line backer and is used to either pressure the QB or to drop back in coverage usually of a tightend or a running back.
Middle Line Backer(LB or MLB): This player is sometimes considered the best LB but that is not true. This player does the same job as the OLB.
Corneback(CB): The Cornerback is the equivalent to a WR on defense and that is there main concern is to cover the WR. They are the fastest players on Defense.
Free Safety (FS): Main job is to help on coverage or pressure the QB. They are the last line of defense.
Strong Safety (SS): Same as the FS but just lines up a little bit closer to the line.
Here is a diagram

FS SS

LB LB LB
CB DE------DT-------DT-------DE CB

This is a basic 4-3 defense
There are other special postions like
Kicker(K): His job is to kick field goals, point after touchdowns, and kickoffs. He is usually smaller than the other players and many teams just convert soccer players into kickers.
Punters(P): A punter kicks the ball away on 4th down when the offensive can't convert. He also kicks the ball away on safeties.
Long Snapper(LS): His job is to snap the ball on special teams plays like field goals and punts his snapp is longer than a shotgun snap.
Third Down Runningback (3DRB): Is the a special postion because the player only comes in on third down plays and is usually used as an extra blocker.
The rules for Flag football are really just watered down rules of tackle and their are hardly any penalties.
Holding: grabing a oppenants jersey outside of the blocking area. usually five yards
Personal foul: Is doing something unsportsman like, like excessive celebration or fighting
Offsides or Encrouchment: being past the ball before and while the snap takes place
I hope this helps and I hope the diagrams are represented right by Yahoo! answers.

The reason Italy wears blue is to represent the Royal family. In fact there are a few countries that do the same as someone else mentioned. And with a name like 'Colin'.... you must be so bitter that the USA or Canada isn't even in the World Cup. So I have a question for you: What do you know about soccer anyway? We Italians have a name for people like you: Mangia Cakes.... you know what that means that you only eat cake So go cut yourself a slice buddy!

QB - Hikes the ball from the center and hands it off, passes it, or runs it himself/herself.
RB- recieves hand off from qb or runs for a pass.

You get 4 downs or trys to get 10 yards.
A dropped pass stops the clock. As well as going out of bounds.
If the ball is dropped while running its a fumble and the ball is fair game to anyone who jumps on it or picks it up. The defense can intercept the ball if its thrown. As long as they catch it they keep the ball.

Take this how you want but you must like one of the guys on the team if you want to play and don't know anything about actually playing... OR, you're built like Mark McGwire. Ughhh, I'm going to have nightmares thinking of that visual.
