I was just wondering how likely a miscarriage is at 19 weeks and what sort of things would cause it to happen. Also, I have been worried about my prescription of tylenol 3. Is it likely to miscarry because of medications?

There are certain medications that can cause premature labor, tylenol with codeine is not one of those. Miscarriage is much more rare past 12 weeks gestation (I don't think the stress of worrying about it ever ends, though). Do you really want to think about the things that can cause a miscarriage...why put yourself through that (I am assuming you are pregnant). Good luck and best wishes...

Well if you're doctor gave you the prescription for the Tylenol 3 knowing that you're pregnant then you should be fine (although I wouldn't have thought it safe). There is no sure fire way that a miscarriage will happen at any stage of a pregnancy, even if nothing wrong is being done, sometimes it just happens.
I really hope you're not trying to find a way to miscarry, more like avoiding a miscarriage. Talk to your doc about the tylenol.

I have taken the 3's while I was pregnant and they can not harm you and will not cause a miscarriage, it is unlikely that you would miscarry at 19 weeks but if there is something making you feel like you are or will talk to a Dr.

Miscarriages after 13 weeks are most often caused by problems with the placenta, trauma to the abdomen, or other physical stress. Tylenol 3 is a strong medication, you should check with your ob/gyn to make sure that it's safe. Generally it's not recommended to take any sort of medication other than regular Tylenol and pre-natal vitamins during pregnancy.

At 19 weeks you are pretty much past the miscarriage stage of pregnancy and also about the Tylenol 3, that is the script I use when I'm pregnant for migraines. Do not take it like candy but for whatever it is prescribed to you for!

A genetic abnormality is the big reason why someone would miscarry further along. I miscarried at 16 weeks and it was a chromosomal issue.

I would ask your doctor about any prescription medication you are taking.

despite popular belief stress does NOT cause miscarriages.
you miscarry because there is something wrong inside that will not let you carry a baby to term.
you can take plain tylenol when pregnant--but no prescription drugs.
if you need something stronger than regular tylenol--you need to talk to your obgyn about other options.

It is very unlikely to have a miscarriage at 19 weeks but it can happen.

A lot of women take Tylenol throughout their pregnancy and are fine, as it is the one pain reliever that is recommended. Your doctor would not prescribe something that would jeopardize the baby. And if you're taking it without your doctor's knowledge, then please stop immediately.

yes it is possible for certian medications to cause miscarragies but it can also cause severe problems for the baby. i suggest you take to your ob/gyn before taken any type of medication
