An interesting thing about interracial couples. The percentage has remained constant over the last several hundred years. Since, in that time, interracial couples have gone from being relatively unnoticed to intensely discriminated against and then openly accepted, even celebrated, yet the percentage remains constant, this hints VERY strongly at a genetic component for them. In other words, most people who are interracial relationships are probably predisposed to them.

I think it is very normal to find beauty or attraction in someone different then ourselves. We are familiar, and generally we look like the people in our lives who are familiar to us.. so when a person comes around who has unique characteristics, rounder eyes, shiner hair, it is easy to be attracted to that person.. I think the attraction is actually more a very pure one, at first it probably is a physical attraction. I think it is not at all cultural... culture is learned.. often "cultures" or the beliefs of a group forbids interracial relations.

I have been attracted to a persons of other ethnic groups, but only because the happened to be. That is I found them an interesting and attractive person for reasons other than their ethnicity.

Do you ever stare at people who are exotic or look different? I think it might be sort of like that. I think people are curious about other people and maybe some people (the risk takers) like to step out of their surroundings and see what makes others tick first hand. I'm only guessing, because I'm white and my husband is white and I was usually just attracted to white men. But I am fasinated by other people and cultures and definitely empathize with how people might feel a strong attraction for any one they might find exotic. Exotic could be physical or cultural or anything that moves you or interests you.

Yes, I guess I have always just found anything but white which I am to be 10 times more interesting and attractive. One reason might be that I am very curvy with a rather large back side, and that never seemed to attract white men. I like men that have any bit of color to them as well, they just look healthier and seem to have more to them. Interracial couples also have healthier, better looking kids because of a larger gene pool to work from.

I have found people of all races attractive mainly on just looks never bcause of culture. In fact the men who I usually find to be the best looking are middle eastern men. A good looking middle eastern guy is where it is at. They are dark with large prominent noses and dark eyes. I would probably not date one because I feel the cultural differences would be too big.

Yes because genetically, offspring will be healthier with a larger gene pool to draw from. Socially, its a bigger problem. I have dated outside my race, someone from another country, and it just did not work out well at all. Ideally, If I connected with the right guy who was ready to settle down and both of us knew ourselves and eachother very well, I would hope that I would be smart enough to be with him regardless of race or ethnicity despite how some family members have told me in the past "I would hate to see you end up with a Black Man". I vow to never say such things to any children that I my some day have. Parental influece can be very powerful.

I actually tend to be attracted to "exotic" beauties- mixed race people tend to look very nice to me. There's also something about a black guy with dreads for this white as snow girl. I usually end up with equally pale guys, though, because people tend to be attracted to those with similar backgrounds and looks as they grew up with.
The guys that I am attracted to who are from different races do tend to have either incredible physical beauty- Taye Diggs is hot no matter who you are- or are like me in other ways. If the personalities click, the rest fades into the background.

i think like all relanshinships starting out you are first attracted by the person physically, but then as time goes on you start to like them for more than that

Sure, many times. It never has anything to do with their ethnic group or race, just their general attractiveness.
