What are the middle school dances like? I am in 8th grade and I have never been to one yet. I keep telling myself that I am going to go in High School because the Middle school dances are very lame. I'm just kinda afraid that no guy will want to dance with me. By the way none of my friends want to go so when there is a dance we all hang out together at a friends house and I think we have more fun there than we would at a dance.....am I right?

I'm in 8th grade too and just like you, I have NEVER been to a school dance before either.
I agree with you, they ARE lame. I have heard that the high school ones are better though. (I have been to a carnival at my school to take pics for the yearbook and it was so boring there. They talked about having a lot of games but there was only like 7 things to do there.) Like you, I fear the fact of somebody not wanting to dance with me-I don't really dance anyways.
Yes, you are right, you and your friends would have more fun at home then at a dance. Plus, I don't know where you're at, but over where I am, they want a LOT of money to go to the dance-like $6.00 and the dance is only like 2 hours. I personally find that a waste of money.

My memory of a middle school dance was all the boys on one side of the room, all the girls on another side, a few of the cool couples slow dancing and one or two people crying in the bathroom for one reason or another, while parents come early and watch from the door to the horror of their child. Ahhh.... those were the days!
I'm sure that I would have had more fun hanging out at a friends house instead of at a lame dance.

you never really do dance with the person that asked you out to the dance. Its just a big crowd of people semi dancing. The girls at my school dance in a big circle. thats about it. It depends if you like attention when you dance because thats what you get. But if you would rather hang out at your friends house thats fine. I would at least try it and see what you think.

how do u know that middle school dances are lame. there not but it depends what school youre at. im in 8th grade 2 and i have a blast at them even if my friends dont go. i meet new ppl there. and who cares if guys dont dance w/ u. just go so you can c 4 urself then if you dont like it at least now you know.

and they do cost 7.00$ at my school but there at 7-10:30 pm so its totaly worth the money. thats 3 in a half hours. what do u expect 7 hours?

Mostly the whole point of going is hanging out w/ your friends, so if you're doing that anyway there is no point. Unless you like to listen to really loud, awful, edited music.
