This may be only somewhat... but it may help:
(16^(x+1)+20(4^(2x))) / (2(x-3)*8(x+2))
(16^(x+1)+20(4^(2x))) / (2(x-3)*(8x+16))
(16^(x+1)+20(4^(2x))) / ((2x-6)*(8x+16))
(16^(x+1)+20(4^(2x))) / 16x^2+32x-48x-96
(16^(x+1)+20(4^(2x))) / 16x^2-16x-96
(16^(x+1)+20(4^(2x))) / 16(x^2-x-6)

(16^(x + 1)+20(4^(2x))) / (2(x - 3)*8(x + 2)) =
(16*16^x + 20*16^x) / 16(x - 3)(x + 2) =
(18*16^x) /16(x^2 - x - 6) =
[18*16^(x - 1)] / (x^2 - x - 6)
