Your husband is very rude and inconsiderate. Shame on him.

It doesn't make you a pack rat to keep your son's drawings. Mother's are usually more sentimental with these things than Father's are. I am sorry that he threw the drawings out. It was a little selfish on his part. You have a right to your son's things if you so choose. Your husband needs to reconsider your feelings. You evidently are a proud Mother. Hang in there and God bless....

I don't think your husband should have thrown them all out. He should have at least asked you to go through them and pick out your favorites or something like that. And if they were all put together in a drawer, I don't see how they were in the way or something. Maybe you should start that book now, and put them in there as you get them. He's probably less likely to throw away a book of memories, than to throw away a bunch of drawings by themselves.

I see nothing wrong with wanting to keep your son's drawings. I think that's a fantastic idea! If not for you, but for your son, as well. My dad has told me he expects me to keep all of my writings, and he's been asking for copies of my school's newspapers that I write articles for. I hardly see as having one drawer of drawings is considered being a pack rat. I would save every drawing I could because then you or your son could look back at his work from his younger years, and it could bring back good memories to reminisce about.

Throw away something of his, and tell him he's being a pack rat. He didn't have to throw the children drawing away. That was mean. He threw something away that meant so much to you. They were cherish-able and I'm sure very dear to your heart. And something you wanted to keep and remember. But it was very wrong of him to do something like that.

I was inconsiderate of your husband to throw the pictures out. They were yours and your son's. I think, it was cruel and rude! You have a right to keep what you want. You have basic human rights to save what you want to save that means something to you. He doesn't sound very sensitive to me.
