Your best bet at this point is to keep the oil ... and change the car!

Honey,
What in the world are you thinking, a vehicle needs an oil change, depending on how many miles you drive and climate you live in. Checking your oil every other month or so will show you the color, if it is light and low add a quart, if it is slightly brown add a quart; and get a lube, oil change with filter, watch them and it cost about $40. and if it is dark brown or more, your vehicle is going to die, no lie.
The ping and knock; bad fuel, ignition timing, carb, fuel injectors, distribution components, vacuum leak, a hose. a lot of people don' t realize this. Try the lube and oil and put an additive in your gas or change it. Check all fluids, and tire pressure. By the way I am just a girl.

Bad on both. You might try changing the oil and oil filter, but I don't like your description of what has taken place and it sounds like a crankshaft bearing(s) knock. Be prepared to buy a major engine repair or engine. Let this be a lesson and plan on doing 2 to 4 changes of engine oil and oil filter service at least in a years driving for each vehicle you own.

its not good and your oil is not even oiling anymore it loses its efficiency after being warmed up so many times i suggest if you want to keep your car for a few more months drain that oil put in a full can of lucas oil! and hope for the best if its not too late . but Lucas oil is very known to fix those old engines pretty good . but if you dont do this now . you maswell jass put water in your oil and blow it cause that is what its running like now. Good luck and happy new years!

the pistons are pretty well shot no not a good sign at all.soon it will get so croated it won't start at all cause the motor is shot .why you hav'nt changed the oil in 3 years? humans cant run on energy without food, and a car can't run without oil.

Um, yeah...that's definitely a bad sign! Take it to a shop and get your oil changed, finally. You're suppossed to get your oil changed every 3 months or every 3,000 miles...its not that expensive, and it helps keep your car running.

Ummm....YES!!
Even if you haven't put the miles on your car for a scheduled oil change, the oil is old and needs replacing.

Yes. My car did that and the end came very soon afterwords. On my car the oil plug broke or wore out, and then all the oil came out of the car and caused engine damage (plus I was on my way to work at the time!). Please, please go get your oil changed!! :)

Oil should be changed at least every three months or three thousand miles...I think your engine is now toast!
