she went to the Philippines with her aunt. Not with the guy. Aunt is trying to talk sense into her about going out at night. Aunt is a Filipina... My husband is from the Philippines and also told her not to go out at night especially with someone she does not know well. she is 21 but like I said not street smart and always looks at the good side of people, is very nieve, and I really don't want her becoming the next Natalie Halloway.

Where in the Philippines? Large country. I would worry more about hanging out with a man she has only known a few days....that is more dangerous than the streets

My question is how is it that she is travelling so far with someone she knows so very little? Is this guy Filipino or what? These thoughts would be my first concern.
I am a small white male and frequent the Philippines each year a couple of months at a time. I have never had a problem, never had a fear, and have been in some very strange places very late at night and alone.
Very strange that any guy would take a relatively strange woman to the Philippines unless of course the woman was his strange and weird wife. Actually very strange that any guy would take any sort of woman to the Philippines considering the number of them that are already there. Extremely Beautiful ones at that!
You might want to question her decision!!

If she will stay in the province except Mindanao nothing to worry about most people in the province are very friendly and helpful. If she is staying in Metro Manila most of the places where young people hang out are generally safe such as Makati, Libis, Fort Bonifacio, Timog, Ortigas Center, Malate. I'm also a party animal and I've been to these places. It is normal to go home in the morning after the party.

When I came here the first time on a tour, we stayed in a Manila hotel. We were warned that after dark we should go outside at least in pairs.
Lot depends on where she will be. Mindanao is more dangerous. Baguio, Tagaytay and Boracay less so.

NOT a good idea. A woman out at night is for street smart, alert women only, not airheads. Say goodbye now, for tomorrow may never be for her.

How old is your daughter, and is she planning on hanging out solo? that's not usually a good idea, no matter where you are. it is especially not a good idea in a foreign setting. Tell her to stick with her friends, and to do her hanging out in reasonable spots, not some remote, little known place in the boondocks, but a popular spot in the city.

She is 21years old and I am sure she will not do anything that will harm her. Philippines is no more than dangerous where you come from.
