Albert Pujols, Ichiro, or Alfonso Soriano?

I would go with Pujols, hands down. It's harder to build a team around a lead-off guy like Ichiro, Pujols can take over the ballgame much easier than Ichiro. Soriano is too streaky.

I love the Mariners and Ichiro is awesome but to build a team around I'd have to say Pujols. He might not have the hits and average that Ichiro does but he has that power and more of a personality. Soriano is pretty much just a mercenary in baseball... going where the money is. I don't want to stoop so low as to call him baseball's T.O. but he's in that area.

I think you have to say Pujols simply because he had the best 1st 5 seasons of anybody in history and he is arguably the best hitter in the game who is extremely patient, with a respectable defensive game. He may go down as one of the greatest hitters ever when it is all said and done.

I think Ichrio and Soriano are fantastic players, but I don't think you can build a team around Ichiro, basically a leadoff hitter. Also, Soriano is too much of a liability at the plate as a freeswinger that racks up too many strikeouts to be the cornerstone of an organization.

All great, but Pujols is an all time great, he does it all, and, justified or not, just has a better rep than Soriano. He is significantly younger than the other two as well. Soriano (4 years older), Ichiro (7 years older).

Easily Pujols. A five tool player that still has so much good years ahead of him and is a hard worker. He is also younger then Ichiro and Soriano is a disaster in the field.

Pujols all the way. If Ichiro was younger I'd choose him. Albert can just pund the ball, but he hits for high average, he's not just a slugger, he's a good fielder, and he can drive in the runners. Ichiro is great though, because he's fast, he's an incredible fielder with a cannon for an arm, and he gets a lot of hits, but Prince Albert is younger.

Alfonso Soriano. There's not to many 40/40 guys out there. I would move in back to second which is another rare find.

But there's plenty of guys with pop.
