I think your aunt should have stuck with you and told the babysitter that she had already gotten her niece to babysit. At least your aunt could have given you the option to babysit or opt-out after her "regular" finally returned the call.

Be polite and respectful, but tell your aunt tomorrow that she hurt your feelings when she was so quick to call you in a "pinch" and yet even quicker to dump you when her "number one" preference got back to her. You thought that you were helping her out in a jam but now feel like she doesn't trust you.

Your aunt has every right to ask who ever she wants to babysit. It was a little inconsiderate to ask you and then cancel in favor of the other girl but that is her right. If you feel you can say it calmly when you meet up with her just let her know that your feelings were a little hurt by her going with the the other girl after asking you first. Offer to sit for her another time ONLY IF YOU REALLY WISH TO BABYSIT FOR HER!!!! If you couldn't care less then just let the whole topic drop as it was probably only your pride that was hurt.

That is not really offended, your aunt takes you for granted. Tell her when she called you to babysit, you had plans and you changed it to accommodate her. She would get the message, she should apologize to you.

Tell her that you think that was kind of rude, and you were a little offended. Maybe she'll appoligise and things can carry on with no hard feelings. If she is just indifferent to it, then tell her to piss off, and don't hang out with her any more.

well, your aunt might not know she offended you first of all and she's not going to know until u tell her -- maybe she thought u really didn't want to babysit -- i would tell her how i feel to insure it doesn't happen again

Just let it go. She is your aunt after all! There is no reason for you to feel offended!

I just smile at them and pretend that I am not offended. You never want people to know that they have that "power" over you, unless it is someone close that you need to work issues out with.
