I say add about half an ounce up to a full ounce more to see if this satisfies her. My kids were that size when they were born and they ate more than 3 ounces from the start. They only ended up drinking no more than 4 ounces when it was offered to them. She will stop when she is full. If she seems to have trouble with the new amount ( excess gas or spit up) then cut it back down. Good luck... theres no set manual for being a mom and parenting your child... every child and mom is different so do what is best for you and your new baby. Congratz!

Feed that baby girl. 3 ounces is nothing. My son was 7 pounds 2 ounces when he was born and he drank 4 ounces from the start. She will stop when she is full. Her little body knows what it needs. Remember, what Dr.'s tell you is a medical opinion formed mostly of statistics. Your baby is her own little person. If she is hungry...feed her!. My son is now 3 months old and he drinks 4 to 5 ounces..he is healthy and happy and he eats when he is hungry and that is about every 2 hours or so. Enjoy her! congrats

All babies, like the rest of us, are different and have different needs; feeding guidelines are just that - guidelines - and are not set in stone. 19" is fairly long for a 6 lb baby, and her body knows much better than any pediatrician what it needs to ensure proper growth. Feed her all she wants as often as she wants and keep in mind that in a few weeks she may very well be ready to start on solids - my youngest was eating cereals at 1 month because the formula and breast feeding was just not enough to satisfy her. Talk to your pediatrician as well, the premade formula may just not be providing enough nutrients for her. Most of all, follow your own instincts now and in the future. You will be a wonderful mother, and she will be a beautiful, marvelous girl and will grow into a wonderful woman. Blessings to the both of you.

I would say something to the dr. about it. Just up it to 4 ounces and see how she does. my brother in laws child was 10 lbs when he was born and a week later he was already drinking 8 ounces of formula at one time. so all babies are different. Or you could try putting a little bit of baby cereal in her bottle. but ask the dr. first. My dr. told me to do it because my daughter threw up alot.

She is hungary. Feed her. DO NOT GIVE HER CEREAL!!!! Babies all go thru growth spurts and they happen very quickly especially when you are counting their age in days. They put on weight very quickly and that is a good thing. Babies normally will eat every 2 to 4 hours. They have little tiny tummies and can only hold so much at a time.

try offering up to 4 oz. every 2-3 hours. she could be going through her first growth spurt. spurts usually last a few days to a week, so if she goes back to eating 3 oz after a week or so don't worry. Babies usually have growth spurts every month so every so often expect her to need a little extra for a week or so. she's perfectly normal. Congrats on the new arrival!

You might try the Enfamil AR Lipil formula. It's thicker and it might help her get full. That is what my son has to use.

I bottle fed all six of my children. I always found when they did that I would put five ounces in the bottle and feed them tell they didnt want any more, they slept longer and none of my children have weight problems.

FEED HIM! my son who is now 7 months is my second of my 2 boys. He was eating 4oz at birth and the dr. at the hospital told me no way! thats way too much. When i took the baby to see his pediatrician at his first check up she said babies will eat when they are hungry. So if he is hungry feed him. If he is excessivly spitting up then talk to your dr., but I was soo scared to feed him as much as we were and I should have been hes fine, and his eating has balanced out.
