I took this quiz and it said that I was outrageously dependent. It was right. My question is how do I get out of being dependent and day dreaming so much???

Self Discipline, Dependency sometimes is not a bad thing, because we as human beings need other human beings to support us with certain things in our lives. For example; when you are ill you go see a doctor, when you need advice on something you don't have specific knowledge of you ask. Dependencies can only be fixed through expanding your knowledge. If you depend too much on your friends for relationship advice instead of asking them why don't you educate yourself through books written by specialist psychologists or relationship counsellors. Education is the key.

Who/what are you dependent on--parents, friends, spouse, substances?

Whoever aside, you need to believe that certain situations need to be handled by you alone, and that you can do it. There are some decisions in life that only you can make.

The public library has numerous self-help books--if you have trouble finding them, do not be afraid to ask a librarian--that is what he or she is being paid for.

You have really not given enough information to let us know how badly this dependency is affecting your life. Try to read the books first, and see if you find you should be speaking to a doctor, etc. about this.

has a mental health section--just use their search box in upper right corner and type mental health. You can take more quizzes and find out more about yourself. You can read onsite, and also subscribe (if you want) for email newsletters on whatever you find to be your problem. They have all types of topics, you may find some others that interest you.

Start by taking responsibility for yourself and not let others do things for you. Some people have a dependent personality disorder and for this you would need professional counseling. You need someone to be accountable to to keep you on track.
