Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Some people say they don't know and will never know until there Dead!. I've been to so Meany funerals that I think I've finally worked it out and if not I'm not far off!.
1st. Life is a challenge what you put in you get out.
for example the harder you revise the better the grade.
2nd. Life is an experience not all experience's are good and not all bad either but it's up to you to decide and make the most of them!.
3rd. Live life to the full because you never know when you life will end!.
4th. As I was told by my grandad only 2 things are certain 1st is you will live, the 2nd is you will die!.
5th. Life's to short to hold a grudge, you can't sit back and wait for the world to come to you.
the reason I know is because when I was at my younger cousins funeral she was a week from her 19th birthday! and was so ill she didn't celebrate her 18th either but she worked hard to be a physiotherapist.

The meaning of life is us knowing we have only a certain amount of time on earth.

Lets say you were in a cool place, but you were going to be there for a very long period of time. You wouldn't feel the need to go see that cool museum or check out that view on the top of the hill. More often then not, you never end up checking out neither the museum nor the view.

Now lets say you were in this cool place, but you knew you only had one week. You would check out ALL the cool places. It is funny how it works.

We have each been given soul life to resolve the angelic conflict.
All have an empty vacumme inside of us an emptiness a loneliness that only He can fill.
People try to fill it with materialism and a whole range of other things they frantically search for happiness and are never filled.
At the point of God consciousness which we all reach at some time we ask "I wonder if there is a God".
If we say I would like to know He will reveal Himself.
Take care!

i guess the meaning of life is to keep asking that question. why. what. how. when. where. why. because you only get close to scratching the surface of the meanin of life if you ask questions. it's like a constant circle. to find the meaning of life, you must ask what the meaning of life is. mind blowingly simple really. to find the meaning of life, you have to look for it. and even if you don't think you've ever found it, you have just by looking for it. well done. you have found the meaning of life.

also, don't you think it's fantastic that so many people wanted to answer this question? i sometimes think that the world is pretty much done for and that's very deppressing. but things like this site- so many people just asking and asking and asking- maybe there's hope yet!

When I want to know the meaning of a word I look it up in the dictionary.

life |līf| noun ( pl. lives |līvz|) 1 the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death : the origins of life. • living things and their activity : some sort of life existed on Mars | lower forms of life | the ice-cream vendors were the only signs of life. • the state of being alive as a human being : she didn't want to die; she loved life | a superficial world where life revolved around the minutiae of outward appearance. • [with adj. ] a particular type or aspect of people's existence : an experienced teacher will help you settle into school life | revelations about his private life. • vitality, vigor, or energy : she was beautiful and full of life. 2 the existence of an individual human being or animal : a disaster that claimed the lives of 266 Americans. • [often with adj. ] a way of living : his father decided to start a new life in California. • a biography : a life of Shelley. • either of the two states of a person's existence separated by death (as in Christianity and some other religious traditions) : too much happiness in this life could reduce the chances of salvation in the next. • any of a number of successive existences in which a soul is held to be reincarnated (as in Hinduism and some other religious traditions). • a chance to live after narrowly escaping death (esp. with reference to the nine lives traditionally attributed to cats). 3 (usu. one's life) the period between the birth and death of a living thing, esp. a human being : she has lived all her life in the country | I want to be with you for the rest of my life | they became friends for life. • the period during which something inanimate or abstract continues to exist, function, or be valid : underlay helps to prolong the life of a carpet. • informal a sentence of imprisonment for life. 4 (in art) the depiction of a subject from a real model, rather than from an artist's imagination : the pose and clothing were sketched from life | [as adj. ] life drawing. I agree with Geist Konig (sorry, don't have ubungs (sp) on my PC) I saw the movie and it's sequel "WTB...Down the Rabbit Hole" . I walked into "What the Bleep" at a low point in my physical perspective. Things were not going well. I felt like I was carrying 200 lbs of Potatoes on my back, I was sinking into the ground. Then KABOOM like an evangelical smack on the forehead, an awakening, a familiarity, a forgotten hidden secret came into my reality that my inner being immediately recognized. I floated out of the theatre with my feet floating six inches above the ground. Collecting data since that time has attracted to me many opportuities to explore a gambit of Rabbit holes. I am really enjoying life and my interaction with others. I have read many of his Yahoo answers, many brilliant. It looks like ne was smacked too? Many people are smart, it's those that are in touch with their inner being that are intelligent.
