My Great Uncle was on a ship that exploded, he and a few others were the only ones left alive. He doesn't like talking about it much, as you can well imagine, but he has told us stories.
I'm not sure the name of the ship, but I know that it was featured in a WWII documentary once. Alas, I am not a history buff. (not even a little)

Yep. I'v heard lost of stories from people that were in the Camps, both as prisiners and as guards. A few from people that were in the resistance in France, some from those that faught on the Russian front from both sides, and several from both Brittish and American vets that were there.

Sure. I'm 43, and my dad was 40 when I was born. He was a SeaBee in the South Pacific, and told us stories about how they would try to quickly make runways on little islands.

Yes, all of my great-uncles fought in the war and at least two of them have told me about it. My great-aunt was a French war-bride and she's told me some about the civilian side of events.

Yep

I'm in my twenties, and at my job we have a client who calls in all the time (she calls herself affectionately Grandma Helga) and tells us stories about when she was in a concentration camp as a young girl. She has a photographic memory of the things that happened and about how she lost her whole family in front of her.

Sad stuff.

I'm 25 and both my grandfathers served during WWII. They have told me a few stories. Also, one of my grandmothers is German and she was still living in Germany during WWII.

My grandfather was on a U-boat in the Pacific that was sunk by a kamikaze fighter. He and only one other person survived it. That's the only story I can remember that my grandfather told me before he died.

No, I've just heard them second hand. My grandfather was in the pacific during WWII and my dad told me a few stories he had heard. (I have never met my grandfather... and yes, he's still alive!)
