Plug the USB cord into thr computer, then put your iPod on the little dock it came with, the light should flash orange for updating, and stay a solid oragne for chargin. Solid green is fully charged. Anyways, After you put your iPod on the dock, whait a few seconds, and iTunes should open. One it opens, you have to go through a little setup, iTunes will walk you through it. Then, iTunes will start to fill your little iPod up! You can choose the songs, or have iTunes auto-fill it.
Well, that should be about it. Don't dissconnect your iPod if the light is flashing.
Have a nice night
