I was listening to the Talking Heads today. I have forgotten that music used to be fun. It seems nowadays bands are all trying to be "cool", "dark". They don't celebrate life in music anymore, its all mourning in music.
I want to hear a new band that has the Talking Heads, Rush, Outfield, sort of Vibe. I miss happiness.

I listen to Cansei De Ser Sexy, Prototypes, and Shiny Toy Guns.
Fun, definitely, but I'm not so sure they're like Rush or the Talking Heads. lol

Every single type of music is still being created, you just have to get on myspace.com or some other site (try www.pandora.com) and listen to different bands. What you're talking about seems only to be the marketed bands; there are healthy underground music scenes in virtually every town.

Fun music isn't all gone, you just have to look harder. I went to a random concert at a bar a few days ago (Tracktenburg Family SlideShow Players) and they were very similar to the bands you named. So, just try to see bands you've never heard of.

i wish i could help you out, but music is a sign of the times. when the country is pissed-off, most of the music will echo that. ive started listening to old r&b. if your young, alot of that youve probably never heard, but it is fun music, maybe you should give it a listen.

today's so called singer song writers cant sing and cant write songs. most of them do not have a clue on singing or song writing.
