I've heard them say if the mother is Jewish, it follows that she is Jewish too. Unless she chooses otherwise.

She is whatever she wants to be.
But by Hebrew law she would be Jewish - the religion is passed through the Mother's line.

i the long run she doesnt have to be either. shes a free person living in america.she can be any religion she wants (this doesnt include the discrimination that goes along with it)

i got a friend who's mom is catholic and dad is jewish. she just celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah.............
