As you mentioned you replaced the timing belt.
If the engine rotates but will not start; the timing is off and can be adjusted by the distributor cap.
If vehicle has a computer; consult a professional mechanic, you may want to do this anyway.
If the vehicle seems it ran out of gas put a couple of gallons in it.
CHECK ALL ORIGINAL CONNECTORS ONE MAY HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OFF.

Since it was running before, the belt was replaced, and not after, I would double check the valve timing. If it is one notch off the engine will not run. Make very sure the marks are in the proper location when tightening the belt and they don't move.

Do you get any warning lights? when you try to start it do you smell unburnt fuel?
If you replaced the belt, you could have a few things, you could have bumped the water pump pulley, You might have a problem with the fuel pumps pully having wear and the new belt isnt sitting properly.
the belt may be too tight or lose.
Everytime i know i have something wrong on the timing belt, i take it in. There are just so many problems and exact placements thats its easier to have mymechanic charge me an arm and a leg for service.

on any ohc or dohc engines if the timing belt broke while driving the car you have a 70% chance that you have bent a numerous amount of valves in the process. If you tried to restart or turn the motor over after the motor turned off you have a 98% chance that you have just bent numerous valves. either way on these type of engines "preventive maintainance" is key from avoiding things like this.

Need more info!
You did not say if belt was broken or not.
If it was broken than it might be bent valves.
If it was not broken than it could be the fuel or electrical problem.
Most likely fuel pump.
