i have asked this question to alot of people myself. my wife says living with one is kind of like living with a woman (jokingly) because i am always looking for a deeper meaning and have a need to have an answer to almost everything. overall though most people think of us as anyone else would, just people nothing more or less. ( i hope)

Okay...over the years I have met several psychologists who treated me well and as a friend--and a couple who seemed as though they were, themselves, in need of help. Most are very easy to get along with--and something to remember is that if you get a "bad" one, you can ask for a change (or referral) to another.

Contrary to what the media says, psychologist are very laid back. Yes, some are a bit crazy, but who isn't? They don't spend all their time analyzing everything that walks by. From my experience, I would love to have a psychologist as a friend.

I actually read somewhere that a majority of psychologists have are not well-adjusted and thier personal lives are a wreck.
Doesn't make sense to me but then again I've never had the pleasure of talking to one.

You have to be a nut to know one.

A person that has been dignosed Schizophrenia and goes to College for 8 years and becomes a Psychologist is one Crazy Dude.

Imagine a person that is crazy getting a degree, or becoming a Doctor and he gets to cut and remove your Gull Bladder.......lmao

In a word, pretentious. I do not know how many times I have been subjected to their forms of address faux pas. When a PhD introduces himself as doctor" whatever" it behooves one to qualify it with the doctorate. Psychologists seem to do this quite often. Anecdote, I know, but I use any ammunition against social scientists.
