Is it the coffin tank model? if so, I may have just what you need

The catalogue we use is called CUSTOM FASTENERS LTD, based in Newtown Wales.
You can order a copy of the catalogue by calling 01686 629666
The catalogue has 6 different fuel taps ranging from £10-15

Also, what is actually wrong with yours? As these units can be split, so if it leaks all you need is a new rubber seal

Ebay, I just looked but there was nothing exact but its likely there will be one in the next few weeks, or there was a complete gpz550A1 for less than 300 quid lots of spares .

Just looked again complete bike minus engine £46 you would pay close to that for a tap from breakers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kawasaki-Road-bike-rolling-frame-gpz-550-H-no-reserve_W0QQitemZ150075423945QQihZ005QQcategoryZ10464QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It would seem that you would have probably checked this out already, but in case you haven't, you may want to look through here, just click on it.

A fuel tap is a pretty standard piece of kit, even for a 23 year old bike.

Have you tried other GPZ models, or even the GPX series?

You try posting a "Wanted" ad at http://www.SportbikeClassifieds.com and see if someone has the part.

You may want to try PartsFish/Powersports pro: http://www.powersportspro.com/Partsfish/Login.asp

Parts Fish allows you to basically find OEM part numbers for specific motorcyle models, and then will order it for you if they can still get it. I've had pretty good luck w/ sourcing parts from them with 80's era motorcycles.

Another option is to track down a GPz forum, and ask there for what might be interchangeable and/or if someone has the part available. That was a fairly popular bike in its day, you should be able to track down something for it!

I suggest you go to Yahoo! Auctions the Japanese Version.
Have a Japanese friend help you with this search.
I always find intersting items there, with cheap prices and quality as good as new.

Try going straight to the Kawasaki web site. Maybe for some reason your dealer isn't able to obtain one, or if they don't have it in stock, they don't want to bother ordering one.
