If this in not normal for you then take a laxative and let it work overnight. If that is not effective then use a glycerin or bisacodyl aka dulcolax suppository. If you have chronic constipation you need to increase your fluid intake. Use a stool softener and a fiber supplement and increase your natural fiber intake. Prune juice or prunes are also good for the bowels.

Firstly, try eating any veggie or fruit. All contain fiber (what makes you go). If that does not work to help with the problem, you can buy fiber supplements (Metamucil, Fibersure, or Fiberchoice). I suggest Fiberchoice personally. Metamucil seemed to only work for me for about a week. But everyone's body is different. If the over-the-counter supplements don't work, talk to your doctor. You might have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). I hope I helped :-)

Drink lots of fluids, eat a diet rich in fiber (fruits, whole grain foods), and also take a stool softener (this will bring water into the intestines and soften your stool).
