Last night we had a bad storm and it caused a power outage. When the power came back and I tried to turn my PC back on it wouldn't turn on.

I looked to see if there was the little lights on the back of the PC but they also where not on.

I opened my case and i could see any burnt marks.

could it just be the power supply or could i be up for a new computer?

I would assume the power supply , I had a computer at work that blew the power supply after the power kicked out , I think it was a surge rather than lightning but the surge protector was still working afterwards .
Power supplies are rather easy to check , you can buy a tester for under $10 or use a voltmeter if you have one handy .

I would say that the storm got your computer power supply, now that you learned a lesson go get a good surge protector for it where it runs off of a battery instead of being directly plugged into the electric outlet, best buy carries a real good one for $110.00 and it is well worth it if you have a storm and the electric goes off and then comes back on.

potential surge guy. Why on earth did you go away the computing gadget linked to the mains interior the midst of wintry climate? In wintry climate, while a working laptop or computing gadget isn't in use continuously disconnect it to ward off those style of issues. As for the surge on your computer, i don't understand how undesirable it replaced into, i might desire to have affected in undemanding terms you motherboard and it could have affected you entire computer. i could recommend paying for a sparkling device after a expert tests it to be certain what may well be stored.

It could be the power supply.
There should be one or 2 little glass type fuses if they are black then the fusees are toast.
It will take a pro to be able to tell if it can be fixed and how much it will cost.
