example the clothes they were, the way the act,(drugs, slutting around, citizing everyone, being rude and campy), I'm all about supporting the community and I know this goes on in the str8 community as well. Am I the only one that just gets bothered by it in the slightest? PS. kwscooty, My last question in no way was directed at you. I think you look hot in your hat and you are very nice, i like you. I was referring to Nelly being, rude smartass guys that like to be rude and campy to me. I like Gay men that wear Cowboy hats just the Nelly ones that bother me. Maybe I don't understand the true definition of Nelly.

I rarely get annoyed at someone, but when I do it is not because of their clothes or their personal decisions. Clothing and personal decisions are just that, personal, and it is none of my business to question what someone else prefers unless it is someone that I am in a relationship with. Although I would most likely not date someone who is 'nelly' since it is not something that I am attracted to, it doesn't mean that I am annoyed by them. The only people who genuinely annoy me are those who concentrate on condemning others (i.e. those who usually call themselves Social Conservatives).

Sure, sometimes you bet I do. I LOVE Rosie O'Donnell, but sometime I just shake my head and go, "here we go again." The TRUE definition of nelly is 1) An effeminate homosexual man or 2) Of a man, having behaviour and mannerisms associated with a typical woman rather than a typical man. So, its your personal choice whether to prefer or not prefer to be around this type of person. No shame either way. We all have personal preferences. Bigotry is when we go out of our way to take away or try to stymie their rights.

I don't think your trying to do that to them. And, there are tons of guys out there that appreciate and love nelly men and I salute them!

I do truly consider us all one big queer family. Sometimes, the brothers will get in a fight, sure. (::points at log cabin repubs:: :P) As for the people who "fit the stereotype", I think there's a major excess of nelly-hating going on. Historically, it was these guys and drag queens (who also get a lot of hate) who made all the big jumps, and who took the brunt of all the abuse. They STILL take the brunt of the abuse. If someone's specifically "rude", fine whatever. But if someone's a little bit...loud in their gestures, soft in their voice, whatever, I think it's stupid and literally pre-judging of you to dismiss them as nellies that you want nothing to do with.

Yeah, I do get annoyed at flamboyant, rude, or disrespectful gays same as I get annoyed at the macho **** and similar behaviour displayed by some str8's. The important thing str8, gay, bi, or transgener is to give respect to all and respect one's self. People who air what they arn't royally piss me off! And P.S. I wear a cowboy hat, buckles, belts, and boots.

Yes, I sometimes do but it is for a reason that applies to everyone. Some people just talk too much. Although, it is sometimes cute when some of the guys start to talk alot because they are nervous.
