Am 47, and always have a handkerchief, as i don't want to have to carry a box of tissues around with me all the time. Besides tissues waste trees. If a handkerchief is changed daily I don't see what the problem is.
To those that think handkerchiefs are so bad I assume you all wear disposable underwear in the event of discharge or a period ?

I have used a handkerchief for years. I live in Upstate New York and work in New York City and Boston and all business men carry one.

If I am out in the yard and working I always have one in my pocket to wipe the sweat off my forehead.

Every evaning I take the handerkerchief and if it is unfolded - I put it in the wash basket and in the morning take out a new one.

A man's handkerchief is more masculine than tissues and they are more sanitary because you always have one available where a tissue may not be near by.

The germs that are on the handkerchief are the same germs that are on your face and your hands. You swollow the mucus that ends up on the handkerchief. It is a clean way for you not to spread your bacteria to other people. You can wash and it is clean again.

yeah i always carry a hanky. Every morning I put a clean white ironed hanky in my trouser pocket before I go out. Tissues aren't strong enough, I know with a hanky I can have a good hard honk into it and clear my nose properly without worrying about getting white flecks of tissue all over my shirt. Are you a loud noseblower too? Just wondered. By the way I'm 32 too!

i'm with pickler.. handkerchiefs are gross. they may well be greater beneficial for the atmosphere, because of the landfill subjects, yet basically negligible. once you look into how massive a tissue is, and how long it will take to decompose, a handkerchief would not incredibly keep all that lots. they are stylish to have protruding of your pocket, yet basically for tutor. Sneak into the bathroom and blow your nostril on TP or tissues in the event that they have any there.

why a handerkerchief is a vital choice of any gentlemans apparel, what else shall one use to polish ones monacle or use to clean ones smoking pipe. to be left without ones handkerchief in the instance of a guffaw or sneeze at the dinnertable... quite unthinkable.

A man simply isn't a gentleman if he doesn't issue his nasal waste onto a finely weaved linen cloth, inscribed with his own initial.
Heaven forbid a gentleman having to excrete his mucous onto a disposable towel of tree fibre!
