Have your doc. test your hormone levels . You may have PCOS.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I was the same way. Lose weight your just fat. That was always the excuse. Until one doc. I went to did an exam and tested my hormone levels and I was diagnosed with PCOS. There are alot of things that can be done for the side effects of this disorder.(Excessive facial hair, few cycles, obeisty, and the list goes on...) Getting to a gyn and being tested and examined is the only way for a pos. answer. Good luck!

I have always been that way. The only thing wrong with me have 3 periods a year was that periods were heavier. Later I started the pill to regulate it and that worked as long as I popped a pill in my mouth every morning. I got tired of that so today I am back to the way I always was. Good luck!

I've had the same problem. I've been overweight since childhood and never had regular periods - ususally 4 - 8 a year.

It definitely could be because you're overweight. But maybe there's a hormonal problem that causing them to be irregular and also causing your weight problem. I'd see if the doctor could do some bloodwork to see what is going on.

yeh it could be your weight but then like you say your periods have never been right....it really angers me ehrn Dr's just blame the easiest thing they can ....too many of them do it....go back and demand to see a specailist have your bloods done again...your well with in your rights...
If id have listened to all my Dr's i woulnt be here now...for yrs i was told you dont have gall stones your constipated!...10 yrs of this then one day I collasped and it turned out that I had Pancratitius becasue I had a deceased gall bladder that had 100 stones in it and it was rotting inside me.....so sometimes its good to be that pain in the bum patient because they don't know it all!!
Keep on at them and good luck...xx

I don't think that is normal at all
and not due to being overweight...
I would see another OB/GYN for a second opinion
it could be a hormonal imbalance or something..
