Issues concerning children getting hurt or arguaments. I know what has caused it, but the effect is awful. My mouth goes dry, my head becomes fuddled, my eye sight starts to go misty and I shake like I am freezing cold. I have panic attacks in highly stressfull situations. I feel that the years have taken their toll and I am no longer strong enough to deal with some things in life. Of course, I deal with them, but I feel drained before I even start to deal with really difficult situations.

The answers so far are really helpfull. I take st Johns wart. Experience wise, I have had twenty years in and out of court rooms regarding children and have been on the recieving end of mental, physical and sexual abuse during two long relationships. I lived on my own for five years with my youngest (7), I changed my life, as would not live as victim, and married to a great bloke. As I said, I know the cause.
I had this experience in court just before xmas. I have been to court about 75 times over the years, 32 of them between 1999-2002. I have seen far too much, and understand too much. I do not suffer from depression as such, but chemical imbalance does happen through lack of sleep, poor diet and stress. I find the seretonin in bananas helpfull. I think I have done well to not loose the plot in all this time. My own life is much better now, but I am 40, I am not as strong as I used to be!!

You need to have some "interactive" light therapy...it helps when your brain has been traumatized and is now stuck...When too much over stimuli comes at you...you experience what you were describing....I bet you deal with a lot of depression too...Now this is not just light therapy...so when you check it out....type in the search bar "interactive light therapy"....I speak to you from experience....Good Luck.

You are luckier than most--at least you know what has caused it. Yes, you are having all the symptoms of panic attacks, and they do grow worse with the years.
Have you spoken to a doctor or therapist about this? Klonopin (clonazepam) is usually prescribed for panic/anxiety. They do not work in just a few minutes like Valium or Xanax, but their effect lasts much longer than the other two.
Many people who suffer with anxiety also suffer with depression. It would be a good thing for you to see a doctor very soon. If you cannot afford a doctor, call an emergency room and have them tell you where a free/sliding scale clinic is (they are unlikely to be listed in the phone book). If the emergency room tells you to come there, GO, they have to treat you even without money or coverage--you may have to pay them back at $10 per month or whatever they feel you can afford.
Don't, like so many of us in the past have done, suffer when there is help out there. If you are one who doesn't believe in taking too much medication, they can also offer therapy, relaxation techniques, tips on dealing with panic attacks, and other alternatives.

These little purebreds often have nervous disorders. It's from being highly inbred. You might be able to get it under control with exercise. Your dog needs to go for at least 2 walks per day. If she isn't already getting a couple of lengthy walks, start easy. She will need to build up her stamina. Increase the length and pace of the walks a little every day. This is a wonderful way to build up her self esteem and courage. It will also help with her appetite. She will develop trust and affection towards the person/people walking her. Be sure to use a leash and keep her safe from other dogs, cars, etc. If your lifestyle will not allow you to do this, then get a treadmill and teach her to walk on the treadmill. She will at least get the physical exercise she needs this way. She will miss out on the other benefits though, so even if you have to get up an hour earlier every day find a way. The exercise will be good for you too! She does need to take a trip to the vet, just to rule out any serious physical ailment. And...you might want to ask your husband what happened. He may have stepped on her accidentally, scared her, or played a little too rough. Something that small looking up at a walking, talking monster of a man. I'd shake and hide too! Remember, this is your responsibility, just as if she were a small child.

If you're going through all of this, maybe you just love children & don't like seeing them hurt? Have you had past experiences with getting hurt when you were a child? Or have you had past experiences with arguments? If so, maybe you should talk to a counselor or a psychiatrist?

Niacin (not niacinamide) You may get a flush (red face) but it will pass in a few minutes- brand - Solgar 100 mg tablets - try half a day. Also Thiamin - look on a loaf of bread you'll see "thiamin mononitrate" That's the kind you want not thiamin HCL. The only brand I know of thiamin mononitrate is Solaray (100 mg capsules) at your local health food store. Try one capsule a day. You may get a little diarrhea only becuase the two are straightening out your body.

You obviously have some kind of unresolved issues which you need to deal with, I agree that a counsellor may be your best bet but your gp may be the best person to refer you. I feel really bad for you, I hope thing work out well for you.

Sound like there is a possibility of depression setting in here. Do not go to your GP - he'll just put you on silly pills. Counselling may be a help - you can get a list of counsellors from Citizens Advice

Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are more common than you probably think. Talk to your GP, there's plenty of help out there, and you'll be better before you know it

You need to learn to relax. Take some courses on relaxation, do yoga & get a massage.
