Anything with mandibles (jaws) has the ability to bite. Whether it causes pain or breaks the skin depends on the size of the animal. But I lived in a house with roaches for a while to find that they do give you a little pinch when irritated and that they also eat your hair. Roaches aren't venomous or have a lethal bite so you won't die or anything if you're bitten, but I do know that they are filthy creatures and can carry disease.

Yes, they do. They don't bite like mosquitos though. Mosquitos bite with piercing sucking mouths. ROaches bite with pinchers. It will hurt.

They don't bite adult though. They will bite immobile people and babies.

Here's what a scientist from University of Mass said, " The cockroach is an omnivore, that is, it eats everything edible, animal and vegetable. So if we do not move around too much while sleeping they might be inclined to nibble on our earlobes at night. They are rarely aggressive enough to attack us while we are awake."

hope that helps.

I lived in a roach infested apartment in the US & I can honestly say that I was never bitten by a roach. On the other hand, while living in the Philippines I was bitten by roaches 3 times. The sites swelled to about an inch wide and 1/8" in height. They were also warm to the touch. They itched like crazy, but when you scratched the site it only hurt more. So I guess it would depend on which kind of roaches you were talking about.

Yes, one time I saw this girl get up close on one to stare, and when she did that it jumped on her lip and bit her. I don't know about any other places but the ones in South Carolina bite.
