That depends on what type of place you live in now. Whidbey Is. is a beautiful area and I also love the Jacksonville area because of the nice weather. I lived in the Tacoma area for 8 years and loved every minute of it, but I grew up in Oregon also. The weather is a bit wet there due to the rain forest on the peninsula, but it makes everything green and the winters mild. Rarely snows on the west side of the state. I now live in south Georgia and travel to Jacksonville for weekends and to go to the beach and shop, but never lived there. Of all the Florida towns, I think I would prefer Jax the most due to its location(hurricanes, tourists--both mild). The beach is warm enough to swim in in Jax, but the beaches in the northwest are not. They are really pretty though, they have large rock formations all over them. I will try to find a link to show you what I mean. I like the somewhat more relaxed atmosphere of Washington as compared to Florida.

If you're going to spend a week---never mind all of eternity---in this corner of the Pacific Northwest, the beach is the place to be. Olympic's 60 miles of protected wilderness coastline form the longest such stretch in the Lower 48, with rocky headlands and sea-sprayed bluffs jutting between sandy strips. I hope this helped you to decide.

I used to live about 20 minutes from there. It is a very nice area, BUT you will have to put up with the training of the fighter jets from the NAS. It can get extremely loud. They have a sign outside the Naval Base that says "Excuse our noise, it is the sound of freedom"

if your in thr navy then dont even look this way.this place is in the middle of nowhere and if you have a family then there gonna regret the decision you made .versus being in florida with the storms .and the cost of living here is very expensive
