It cost us $139 to get a virus removed after we used limewire. It's your choice and just be very careful what you download. Anyone can put a download on limewire so what ever they put on is what you download.

file sharing programs will eventually lead u to download a virus by accident. but, limewire pro seems to be more reliable than the regular limewire. u just gotta have an idea of what u are downloading (ie. it's avg size and the type of file) before u actually download. I haven't had any problems with limewire pro. if u do download a file, check it for viruses before actually opening it.

hey dude, after you download limewire, you can download limewire pro from limewire(lol they shot themselves in their foot :D), this may reduce the amount of spyware and viruses downloaded. But the main thing for me is that downloaed content reprograms my firewall and allows pop ups, generally of the pornographic genre. the worst is the image search, basically anything you type, porn usually turns up, and usually of the sicko kind. I have now stopped using it and turned to microsoft marketplace.

LimeWire has a built-in firewall. But if you want to be safe, download ZoneAlarm Firewall, AVG AntiVirus, and Ad-Aware SE Personal. They are all free and highly rated. Ad-Aware SE Personal is AntiSpyware/AntiAdware.
