I actually know the answer to this, I'm just seeing what the general population "thinks"... it'll be interesting. I'll give you the answer later.

I really think it depends on the situation. I know a guy that is slightly overweight by the "chart standards," however, he is natual body builder and in great shape. I also know a girl that is skinny and underweight but has a very high body fat percentage. She is always sick and at the doctor. However, being 600 lbs is not much better. So, I think you really have to take it on a case-by-case basis.

Neither is actually healthy. Being too fat can cause a lot of health issues. Being too thin can cause a lot of health issues also.
The best thing to do is to get a physical check up with blood work by your doctor to make sure that you are healthy. Check with your doctor for the ideal weight you should be weighing for your height and body structure. Make sure you are eating a balance diet that will help you to maintain a healthy weight.

Difficult to answer as it's really a question of degree....ie. being morbidly obese is obviously far more unhealthy than being a bit on the thin side. On the other hand...being emaciated is far more unhealthy than being a few pounds overweight. Generally speaking however it is healthier to be a bit underweight than overweight.

Neither is healthy and both put you at risk for health problems. Obesity is hard on the organs of the body, heart having to work too hard, lungs having to get o2 to the body, Everything is strained under layers of fat.

Being emaciated puts your body at risk for deficiencies. The organs and tissues of the body aren't fed and can't work efficiently.

It's unhealthy to be either. If you're too fat, you have lots of problems like too much bad cholesterol, increased risk of diabetes and heart attack, overworking of the kidneys, not to back problems. If you're too thin, you suffer from malnutrition, hair loss, burnt esophagus (if you're bulimic), and you also run the risk of heart failure.

I know anorexia is not cool, but at least you can't die of a heart attack or have serious leg & knee problems that accompany obesity.

I'd go with being too fat as the worse of the 2 evils.

I am a recovering anorexic. It is very unhealthy to be too thin, way more than being overweight.

Being too thin can lead to heart failure, organ failure, and many other diseases.

Neither is healthy. Too fat leads to high cholosterol and risk of heat attacks. Too thin leads to weak heart muscle and heart failure.

I would think too thin. At least if you're fat and become ill you have something to live off of! Sounds good to me:~)
