Check into the "Réunion" island, it is French and a bit further out then the obvious Madagascar island.
I first heard about this island when someone living their bought a Jewelers loupe from me on E-bay, it took over 2 weeks to be deliverd via air mail.

I do believe that you are referring to the island of MADAGASCAR. You can do a search on world maps and look at Africa. The only island that I saw there was MADAGASCAR. Hope that this has helped you!

Madagascar? try using google earth or a similar program because you can measure distances.
