Gain. I was on Paxil for 6 months and gained over 70 lbs.

I think it may depend on how a person is before they take them. For instance, if a person eats a lot because they're depressed and don't do a lot else, and the antidepressent helps them to be more outgoing, then perhaps the antidepressent could help lose weight.
But if a person doesn't eat much and the antidepressent helps them to eat more, then they may gain. In this case, though, they may need more food. I wouldn't worry about it unless I was very skinny or obese to the point of having health problems.

Yes they can, but it depends on which antidepressants you take. I know some people have not experienced any weight loss or gain from antidepressants, but my fiance gained 60 pounds in two months on one once. As soon as he quit taking the antidepressant, he lost all the weight. Talk to your doctor about the side effects of the antidepressant that you are considering if this is an issue for you.

Depends on the antidepressant. Wellbutrin and Prozac tend to make people less hungry.

it depends entirely upon which one it is. some will tend to lead to weight gain some don't. Ask your Doctor about the side affects of different ones.

Different with different people. Cymbalta and Wellbutrin usually don't.
