Me, Jason and Steve grew up together and have remained close friends. Jason is still single. Steve has recently married for the second time to Louise, who is somewhat younger than us.

Steve has just returned from working in South America for six months. He asked us to look after Louise while he was gone. On his return, Louise has told him that Jason has been trying it on with her. Steve is now refusing to have anything to do with Jason.

Jason tells me that, in fact, Louise tried it on with him (to be fair, he did mention this to me whilst Steve was away). He is adamant that he has done nothing wrong.

Any suggestions as to how to resolve this problem. It has already ruined our Christmas, and this has been the first New Years Eve when we haven;t seen the New Year in together.

oh heck!
This is going to be one of those "only time will tell" situations...stand by each other the best way you can as friends....
Steve will find out sooner or later about louise...but it could take a while & will probably be in another scenario...obviously steve doesn't believe that his darling wife could do such a thing & will stand by her...he's probably hurting either way & is the most confused out of all of you.
Just be there for him when & if he needs you...try to put yourself in his position...not one to be envied that's for sure...

That sucks but if Louise is still in the photograph there is really nothing you can do! If he LOVES her then he will do what she wants most of the time!
I see Jason doesn't have a backbone made of steel so he must have a kind heart and could possilbe be head over heals with...
she could be using this for an excuse Well steve is single and you will be tempted to hang out with him..
or do what she did hit up on Jason and told steve before jason could so she looks like the good guy...
She needs to grow up and your friend Steve needs to as well! He isn't a good friend! and I would tell Jason to move on don't treat steve like a girlfriend. be nice to each other in passing but don't make plans!
If some dude is going to give up a friendship that quick over some chick who is aparently makeing stuff up then ask yourself if you want a friend like that!

My opinion but overall my friends come first with respect and if something like that happend maybe a confrontation with all in the house and see who is most on edge... but if he is blinded by love and that doesn make him bad just confused then give it time and don't hold a grudge but stay away call once in a while and let them know your there for him and that's it!
but get over it is the main thing!
move on!!!

You've got to advocate for Jason here, as long as you believe him. You'll continue to hang out with him and whenever Steve asks why you tell him the truth as you know it. If louise is a younger girl just trying this crap to assert her place, this is just the beginning for Steve, and he's going to need you and Jason close in the near future. Just be patient and don't push them anymore than this.

Of course if Jason really did make a move, then I have no idea.

louise probably feels left out when you all get together. and most probably she told steve that jason tried it on with her out of her own guilt and to avoid any suspicion being turned towards her. if jason and steve have been friends for so long, they should know how each other operates and steve should know which one to trust - louise or jason. go for a big open talk. you can mediate between the two of them. good luck! introducing lovers into a group of friends is always hard. :)

When friends like you steve and jason fall out it is quite normal.from steves point of view he doesnt want another failed marriage on his hands so he will not WANT to beleive that his new wife is trying too cheat on him.however from jason point of view this has already happened. the question you have too ask yourself is who is telling the truth jason or louise.

I beleive that your friend jason might(however slightly) be telling you a big porky but saying that I dont know him the big problem you have is do you trust him enough too tell the truth.how well do you know louise has she tryed it on with you if the answer is yes then you dont have much of a choicer but too sit back and wait for steve too find out the truth for himself sooner or later if this woman is going too cheat on your friend then it will happen in its own time...

your friend will come back too you with his tail between his legs when this happens.my advice is dont interfere your other friend has all ready made that mistake...

jason and steve may solve there differences given time but for now it is just best too let the whole situation calm down abit....

You need to step up for Jason and if Steve doesn't believe you, go on your way with Jason.
When Louise starts cheating on him, he'll see he was wrong. Just make sure you and Jason are both there for him when it happens.

WHY did louise need looking after ,steve did'nt go and marry a 5 year old malasian boy did he!!!
no but seriously your married friend should have expected somthing to happen whom ever is to blame.
so steve marrys a girl younger than himself then abandons her for half a year and tells a male friend to 'look after her'.
as far as im concerned the only person to blame is steve.
give it time and see what happens
whoever made a pass at who doesnt really matter all that matters is steve knows it's all his fault.

Nothing will happen unlit he says SORRY. Accept his part in the matter.

Unless he absolutely refused and ran outta the door, , , , , , ,then ex-friend had a part in it. It's not fun or funny to violate your friend and that, man code "DENY EVERY in LIFE NO MATTER WHAT is NOT A GOOD RULE right. now.

It makes things worse than they are already and is a BIG INSULT to say that you did nothing wrong. You KNOW DAMN WELL YOU DID. Being irresponsible to yourself to pretend like you did nothing wrong and go like everything is OK cause it's not OK.
And it doesnt matter if the wife was running down the street naked and masturbating find another girl. Tell her to put her clothes on and leave.

Do NOT defame this lady cause you messed up. If you say that she came onto you ar anything like that, it doesn't matter. She has her own to deal with. Trying to make her guily to make you look better, WILL MAKE IT WORSE.

This is YOUR F.R.I.E.N.D.S girl. Period. Take your medicine, Be SORRY & mean it.
Do you want your dumb pride or your buddy back as your buddy??

Never Ever do something wrong and deny it again! Toooooo costly.

I am sorry to hear about this situation. Honestly, I would try to stay out of this. Jason and Steve need to settle this issue. If you can't stand on the sidelines, maybe you grill Jason and Louise and try to figure out who is lying and come to the truth.

Oh, my!
Time will tell unless if you know one of the them is honest and the other is dishonest. I don't think the 'Solomon and the Baby' thing can work here because it is hard to figure out who has to be cut in half: Loiuse, Jason or Steven.
For one thing, you should be thankful that you are a caring person and not part of the problem.
