I dropped my cell phone into a puddle of water and picked it up as soon as I noticed. I dried it off as well as I could since I was on a boat but there wasn't muc I could do. I put the battery back in and tried it...nothing. Then I left it out to dry and only just got home. It's a razr and there is no way I'm gonna be able to get a new one. Is there any surefire way for it to work again?

The last thing you want to do is to power the cellphone while it is still wet! Assuming that it is not already fried, Keep it turned off and wait a few days. Keep it in a dry warm place will help with this. To be on the safe side, wait about 3 days.prior to turning it on.

If it does not turn on, then chances are that it's dead.

Good luck!

Cheers!

It shouldn't be as bad, as if it has fallen into the river. That happened to me, once. You say, you completely dried it out?
It might work, if you could get a new battery for it. Is there a business, where you live, called Energy Masters or Battery Plus?
IS the cell phone a pay as you go? Or is it from a contract service provider, such as Verizon? With Verizon, you can get a new one for free, every 2 years. The rest of of time, you have to buy it. And Pay As You Go phones are $30 to $50- (or at least they are, where I live) at Walmart, KMart or Target. Some times more at Best Buy and Circuit City, but the ones they have, are diferent manufactor brands, than what Walmart, KMart and Target have. I hope you have Verizon, or that it' s a pay as you phone. You might need to get a new phone.

Sorry, but it doesn't sound like it's going to be fixable. I've dropped a cell phone in a pool before and it didn't last too long. Once the water gets in there it stays and there's nothing you can do. You could try and find out at the store where you got it or replace it if you have a warranty. Good luck!

I don't think it's going to work again. My father once dropped his phone in the sea (I don't know if it's different for sea water), he picked it up immediately and went the service center right away, where they couldn't do anything. So, he had to replace it.
You can try to go to some service center, maybe they can help.
