I have been off the pill for 1 month now and just got my period 2 days ago. My fiance and I have been making love every night or every second night trying to get pregnant. I have heard you are more fertile as soon as you go off the pill and theres nothing wrong with trying to conceive right away. Did I ovulate or could the pill still be in my system?

Most likely you did ovulate, although you can still have periods without ovulating. I haven't heard of being more fertile as soon as you quit taking the pill. Yes, it is safe to start trying right away. For a lot of women it takes a few months for their periods to become regular after the pill but it sounds like your body is regular already. If you're having 28 day cycles then you're probably ovulating on cycle day 14.

My doctor told me, after going off the pill, that it takes 3 cycles for your body to go back to normal.

There are two ways I know of to know when you ovulate - keep track of your basal body temperature, or buy an ovulation predictor kit. Talk to your doctor about those things or research them on the internet (I used http://www.fertilityfriend.com to track my basal body temperature).
