To me, he is one of the worst, most annoying announcers in the NFL. What do you think?

No, he is pretty smart usually
But, sometimes he can be a little on my nerves

Several years ago, NBC tried an experiment, and televised a NFL game with no announcers. Most people stopped watching before the end of the 1st quarter.
Like Madden or not - he's better than silence.
Madden was one of the first ex-player/coach to be a color commentator. He brought a new dimension to the announcers booth.

Madden is annoying but he was a successful coach so he can get away with it. Tony Kornheiser is a moron who looks as if he has never played a sport in his life and doesnt deserve to be on tv giving his opinion. It is an insult to the sports world to have that ferret man talking on tv.

Madden is one of the elite. I don't even mind when he talks about how much he loves Favre. Sometimes he stops announcing just to talk about a players personal life. I don't mind because he's great!

I think John Madden is just plain crazy! Anyone who talks about the busts in the Hall of Fame talking to each other at night has to be koo-koo :) He is entertaining though!

He doesn't really call the game, Al Michaels does. Madden analyzes the game and comments on it. He's ok in my book.
