If it's prepaid no you don't have to be 18, my 14 yr old son has already gone thru 2 of them! When you purchase the prepaid phone there are no contracts. I suggest a Virgin Mobile but Cingular can be good too. Each time you need to re-up your minutes just purchase a prepaid airtime card, enter it's pin into your phone and you're on your way. It's pretty simple. If anything step into a local cell phone store in your area and they would be able to explain it more for you.

You dont have to be 18 I dont think. I recommend Simple Freedom. You buy your prepaid minutes and thats all you pay for. I had Virgin mobile and I had a monthly plan that would deduct 1.60 a day from my account whether I used the phone or not. With Simple Freedom, its a flat .15/minute and .08/text messages. I bought a $70.00 Kyocera candid with a camera and all the bells and whistles. Best 70 bucks I ever spent. And I canpick up anywhere. My virgin phone, I had to stand out in the middle of my yard to use it. Good luck!!! p.s. Bought my phone at wal-mart and activated online and got 120 free minutes!!!
