Can anybody tell me who ( and why ) in the world is a better central midfielder than Steven Gerrard , joke answers will presumably be from jealous Chelsea fans who are just gutted he never signed.

I cant think of anyone in the world i would rather have in my team than atevie gerrard. Sadly i support Spurs but i can dream. Luckily hes English though so i can support him then. Sadly though he is being wasted on the wing whilst Lampard is wasting time and space in the middle. when wa the last time he had a good game for E|ngland? i cant remember.

No, he's really not that good. I would not swap him for Fabregas or Gilberto, Vieira was better as was Keane, and he would have looked like a rabbit in the headlights if he'd have ever come up against Zidane.
He couldn't even get the better of Flamini on Saturday - that tells you everything you need to know. He is a very good Premiership player, but far from the ebst in the world.

Can I start by saying I totally agree with everything you have said. And can I also add to frank_lampard_king (excuse my laughter) Yes he scored a hat-trick, but only after their Goal-Keeper was RED CARDED (why?) In the 48th min,and a Defender had to go in Goal Then with only 15 minutes to go the MIGHTY CHELSKI were up against 9 Football Players from the League Two Side Macclesfield. Lets see when the chelski goals were scored, OH YES 4 AFTER THEIR GOAL-KEEPER WAS SENT OFF.The 3rd at 51 min, 4th 68 min & the next 2 GOALS 5th at 82 min & 6th at 86 mins were SCORED when MACCLESFIELD HAD 9 FOOTBALL PLAYERS LEFT ON THE FIELD, also maybe you should look at how many players from Macclesfield were BOOKED against how many were BOOKED from chelski.

not the best passer even in the prem, not great tactically.....if you actually watch the liverpool games, he does one of those smacks from outside the area about 5 or 6 times per game....and as long as one goes in every ten games he gets called the best midfielder in the world
if he wants to prove himself he needs to go to a good team like manchester united, and he will. watch it. rooney and gerrard, scousers for life, kissing the manc badge next year

got to say i agree with ya.cant think of any other player who dominates his area of the field like he does.he has the knack of being able to singlehandedly change a game and lift the rest of the team.two examples being the champions league final and the fa cup,where other players would have given up and accepted defeat he had the drive to pull it out of the fire.awesome.don't know what toon tig is on about steve g has won major honours in his time at liverpool,what has dyer won at newcastle? oh yeh your tin pot intertoto cup that micky mouse would be shown up to win!
