If I put myself in the shoes of some Iraqis and think about what I would do if a much more powerful country sent it's troops in and occupied my town, and directly or indirectly led to the loss of my job and the death of my friends and family, I would probably fight back or do anything to get those occupiers out of the country - even if the occupiers said it was in my best interest for them to be there since they're ridding my country of bad weapons, a bad leader, or bringing democracy. If that force led to the death of members of my family (300,000 iraqi dead so far) I would probably be bent on revenge, so we're actually creating more "terrorists". It's a mess....

It doesn't make them look like a patriot, does it?
If they are against US and allied forces and the Iraqi forces, then they sure don't support their government and they don't support the need for peace in Iraq.

When they fight against soldiers, only, I think they have a case that they are not. When they strap bombs on and go after groups of children taking candy from the soldiers, THAT makes them terrorists.

Who is occupying? We are supporting the govt that millions of Iraqis risked their lives to choose.
Since there is no occupying force, nobody could possibly be fighting such a force. Those who commit murder should be punished.

If Isreal were to today say screw the US we don't need your support, they'd become terrorists.... Same goes for everywhere else in the world. Terrorist is the new word for opposing forces. We'll see them called something else when this new flame dies.

Most of the insurgents are not Iraqi, and we aren't "occupying" Iraq. Therefore, your question is invalid.
