Like many freed slaves, I voted Republican for many years following the Civil War. And Abe Lincoln was considered to be the greatest President. For the last sixty years or so I have mostly voted Democratic.

In some ways I like Dubya the best as he showed that even gibbering morons can get elected president.

I am a republican. THE best president in my opinion was Abraham Lincoln, because he had the courage to finish the task that George Washington and the founding fathers of this country started, which was making this a country where all men were truly free, and at a time when most men did not want to be in office. There has not been a president of his caliber since.

I am a Democrat by birth but unsure as an adult. I think Gerald Ford was one of the best because he saw that NOTHING gets accomplished by fighting and believed in bipartisanship wholly. I would just like a President with no money, no agenda, that couldn't be bought and loves America to be President. Can that happen?

Independent Party (w/ Democratic tendencies:) Best President was Abraham Lincoln - for statesmanship, compassion and courage and for keeping our country united after a bitter and horrible civil war. His actions have influenced the strength of our country to this very day.

I am a republican. I dont really like making a statement like "best" when it comes to presidency, its not a competition and they all make contributions. Moreover, theres several eras that the presidency and the nation went through that were so distinctly different that you couldnt compare a founding era presidency to a modern presidency.
