Isn't it only fair to give every team equal opportunity at the number 1 pick. Isn't the current system socialistic and if there is one place where that kind of philosophy ought not to exist it is in professional sports where competition ought to reighn supreme?

Here are some of the worst draft picks in recent history. 1. 2005, Lions drafting Mike Williams. The lions therefore drafted a WR for the THIRD TIME IN A ROW in the first round. They said they took the best player available but that clearly was not the case. His career has been a huge disappointment. 2. 2005, Packers drafting Aaron Rogers. Packers chose to take their QB of the future rather than take a defensive player to help upgrade an awful unit from 2004. Rogers has contributed absolutely nothing to the Packers. 3. 2004, Chargers drafting Eli Manning, and then getting Philip Rivers. The chargers decided to not give Drew Brees another season to develop and instead took Eli Manning, whom they later traded to the Giants for Philip Rivers. Brees then proceeded to break out and be one of the best quarterbacks in the league in 2004 and 2005. Had the chargers taken another player, Larry Fitzgerald, Kellen Winslow, or Roy Williams to name a few, they could have gotten a high impact immediate player other than a quarterback who sat on the bench like Rivers did. 4. 2006, Texans drafting Mario Williams. Everyone always talks about this. The Texans decision to draft Williams was one of the biggest blunders in history. They could have gotten superstar in the future Heisman trophy winner Reggie Bush, not to mention local Vince Young or awesome Left Tackle Debrickashaw Ferguson. Instead they went with Williams who had a subpar rookie year while the other all helped previously struggling teams from 2005 attain success helped by each of their play. There are many other terrible decisions as well, but these ones stick out to me the most in recent draft history.

Defintly not, the good teams don't need better players. They just try to stay healthy and do the same thing next year. The worser teams need the better draft picks to improve there roster. So if the worser teams continue to get the higher picks, the NFL would be more competetive than just 10 dominate teams each and every year and those fans of the worser teams won't every get to see their team do well at all.

I think the NFL is doing it right. If every team has an equal opportunity then the best team may get the best pick and the worst team may get the worst pick making the next season unfair. Your idea isn't bad though.

No because then a team that just narrowly missed the playoffs could end up with the fisrt pick while someone who needs the pick far more, like the raiders, might get the 13 or 14 pick or something.

No. Could you imagine if the Colt's got the first overall pick last year. They could've gotten Reggie Bush, teamed with the greatest back alive PEYTON MANNING, would run all over other teams. And then a team like Detroit and Oakland could the last pick of the round and wouldn't improve at all. GO COLTS!!!

No, it makes it a lot more fair. There is no football equivalent of George Steinbrenner buying all the best players.

I think everyone else has already pretty much answered what i think and i'll just say that if that happens then football will end up like baseball... Unfair

that would be unfair look at the raiders they suck because they
have no qb
