NO. I think of it both as a way to get back some of the points and as a way to thank people who bothered to answer.
As it gets near the deadline if all of the answers were lame I will withdraw the question because I think I did a bad job of explaining what I was asking about. Usually there are several good ones and another that is great or the first of the good. At that point I pick one and thank the responders. I try to never let them expire
